Overseas Events Are Hotting Up

Things are start to heat up in the face-to-face events world. We’re seeing overseas booking demand returning strongly, now that border controls and Covid related restrictions are beginning to relax.

Many of our clients are remembering the value face-to-face events deliver; when launching new products, re-engaging with clients and motivating staff.

We are happy to announce that many forward-thinking business, who opted to postpone rather than cancel booked conferences and incentives during the pandemic, are now being rebooked. These positive signs are a testament to the work venues and ourselves have put in to develop new safety protocols, helped to increase booker and attendee confidence over the past few months.

Just some of the events we’re currently working on include sales teams kick-off meetings, re-connecting through staff team-building, company meetings and updates, senior leadership team away-days and staff incentives. Popular destinations currently include Tenerife, Dubai, Mexico and New York. Since the long awaited announcement of the US opening back up to UK travellers, many Stateside venues are quickly becoming sought after, with 2022 in particular being in high demand.

To help you with your next overseas event, we’ve compiled brief overviews of the 5 aforementioned destinations, including our top picks of the activities unique to each location which you can consider as part of your event experience…

New York

New york

The city of New York needs little introduction. Made up of five uniquely distinct boroughs (The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island), when we say that the city which never sleeps boasts something for everyone, we mean it. But with so much choice comes the need for meticulous planning, which is why we’ve put our 3 top tips together to make the most of a corporate event visit:

1. Book a secret hotel. Secret hotels are similar to traditional upscale boutique hotels but provide little in the way of context, details, visuals, or even their location ahead of the guests’ arrival. This should add to the wow factor of your trip from the get go!

2. No trip to New York would be complete without visiting the top of the Empire State Building to take in the stunning skyline view.

3. Watch a show on Broadway and see for yourself what the big deal is, you won’t be disappointed.

Dubai

Dubai

Once a small fishing village in the Arabian Gulf, today Dubai is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. One of the seven Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is home to nearly 200 nationalities and offers a truly memorable experience to all visitors. Whether it’s by the banks of the Creek or at the top of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, Dubai lives and breathes a sense of possibility and innovation. And with an unparalleled coastline, beautiful desert and magnificent cityscapes, memories are just waiting to be made here.

Dubai has a wealth of accommodation to choose from, tempting business clients with numerous venues and activities to suit the most active or inactive of guests. Year-round sunshine is always a plus, but beware of the summer months where temperatures can reach in excess of 40 degrees, so it’s best to avoid this time for your company conference in the Middle East.

Our top picks when visiting Dubai include immersing yourself in the tradition and culture by visiting award-winning galleries, culture-fuelled hubs and contemporary street art. Or for those looking for a bit more excitement you can take on the desert dunes on a variety of different methods of transportation, challenge your delegates with a deep diving adventur or Nemo WaterSports and finish the day at the Sonara Camp for an eco-friendly desert dining experience.

Mexico

Mexico

Mexico is another popular destination with our corporate clients as it offers a magical experience where attendees can find history, adventure and gastronomy among many other activities. Between October and May there is very little rain and with a choice of beach, city and archaeological important destinations you will be spoilt for choice if hosting an event here.

Of course, we can’t think of Mexico without considering the greatness of its pre-Hispanic cultures, which have shaped the country’s history, culture and traditions. Every part of Mexico is proof of the profound influence of these ancient civilizations that once inhabited the country, which is why our top tip is to visit areas such as Vallecito, where you will find cave paintings, or others like Paquimé in Chihuahua and its ceremonial mounds.

For those looking for a more traditional corporate event, Mexico offers all the usual facilities and activities you would expect, such as jungles, forests, mountains, grottoes, lagoons, hills, parks and national reserves. The options to enjoy adventures and live exciting experiences are endless.

Tenerife

Tenerife

Tenerife is one of the largest Islands in the Canaries and offers sunshine almost all year round. With typical temperatures reaching 24 degrees (75F) in August down to 17 degrees (62F) in January, this make it an ideal location for those looking to plan an event in the sun. The island’s superb hotels and facilities ensures there’s a variety of options to choose from at a range of price points, making this so much more than a holiday destination.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and the only one to have two international airports. That means it’s no more than 2-4 hours flying time from the Spanish mainland and the rest of Europe, so your delegates will arrive ready to go!

Our top picks when visiting Tenerife include taking in the authentic carnival or a visit the the highest peak in Spain, the breathtaking Mount Teide at 3,718 metres (12,200 ft). Whatever you decides, there is an abundance of activities to keep your delegates entertained and enjoying a fantastic experience.
